Hod of Netzach

A thought about HOD/empathy, and the way it bolsters the Netzach/power side of our personalities.

Achieving victory, regardless of the particular sphere of conflict, results from the skillful employment — of a full range of our various skill sets, including the less aggressive but equally critical, softer side of empathy.

The “bulldozer” method of conflict resolution may provide some short term relief, but as those of you who grew up in the Seventies know — “weebles wobble but they don’t fall down.”

A side benefit of developing a finely honed sense of empathy, is the overall improvement in ones general observational capabilities, particularly in the way empathetic people seem better wired to anticipate the moves of an other, an invaluable strategic asset in successfully resolving any form of conflict.

This advantage of strong mindfulness often proves to be the decisive factor — the slight edge needed to eke out the wins that are not short lived, in the crucial battles that need to be fought in our lives.

Much Love Rabbi Yossi
